24 hours from Tulsa

Dearest darlin I had to write to say that I won't be home anymore
cos somethin happend to me while I was driving home
and I'm not the same anymore

Oh I was only 24 hours from Tulsa
ah only one day away from your arms

I saw a welcoming light and stopped to rest for the night
and that is when I saw it
as I pulled in outside of a small motel
it was there and so I walked up to it
asked where I could get something to eat and they showed me where

Oh I was only 24 hours from Tulsa
ah only one day away from your arms

They took me to a big Bus ,I asked them if I could stay
they said okay

Oh I was only 24 hours from Tulsa
ah only one day away from your arms

Oh the poetry started to play
and nightime turned into day as we were listening closely
all of a sudden I lost control as I heard it's charms
and I caressed words, kissed them
told them I'd die before I let them out of my arms

Oh I was only 24 hours from Tulsa
ah only one day away from your arms

I hate to do this to you
but I love something new
what can I do
and I can never never never go home again

I'm staying on the Poetry Bus.

24 hours from Tulsa - and miles to go before we sleep... I have a feeling there will be lots of reading on this particular ride! Doggone that Titus! He's already aboard!

Can I change my mind please? I might be able to catch the bus after all. See you tomorrow, bus pass in hand!

Couldn't help myself. Tomorrow promises to be a busy day, so I had to catch the bus early at my place!

Hey TFE! Having lived in Oklahoma many moons ago, I think I've seen this bus roll by....

The entries so far are brilliant, but I decided to post mine early anyway...just in case we lose power here with the cold winds and rains.

Looks like we who took the 'Plath less traveled' have found our way on the wings of our chosen phoenix. Perhaps, it's the only way to release our minds from the flames of Sylvia's passion.

I've posted on both of my blogs, so folks may choose.

Happy Poetry Extravaganza Monday!

I'll be at the bus stop at 1:00 AM Pacific Time. This week we get doggy biscuits? Hey! Who ate all the goat cheese?

I thought the bus didn't leave until Monday!
I hope I can live up to all the buildup around here.
This 24 hours from Tulsa could be an anthem. I can't get it out of my head now.

I've got a couple of things going on at Keepsakes for Sunday, BUT, I will have my Poetry Bus entry up in the a.m. Promise.

I'm hoping the bus sticks to its time-table - I'm forever getting to the stop to find it's gone without me and this is one of them non-transferrable tickets as well!

Mine's up, too. I'm on da bus.

Oh TFE - that was marvellous - so strong and emotive - it really moved me.
