EEjit surviving Swine flu

Thanks for all your good wishes, mucho appreciated. No swab test done to prove but Dr says in all likelyhood it's swine flu. They only test (here) if you have serious symptoms,.These 'mild' symptoms leave you feeling like you have been hit by a double decker bus (pains all over, hands, thighs and particularly back of chest, mine felt like I had been beaten with lump hammers, complete inability to move from the bed, wild horses wouldn't drag you nor a thousand euro tempt you, raging sweats -gallons of it and then frozen chillsan intense unlifting headache, chesty cough, occasional vomitting and that worrying feeling that you are dreadfully ill) so I sincerely pity the poor people whose symptoms are worse. Had a rotten interminable night last night, the worst of all, and yet here I am, hours later, at the computer again ,clearly over the worst and getting better.

Wow, that sounds horrible. The swine flu is pretty scary business; glad to hear you're coming around, & hope you continue to be on the side of mending.

If your ears were burning earlier this morning, don't worry - that wasn't a new symptom, I met Mum and Dad for coffee and we were talking about you! Ooooooh! Your toes would have curled!

I'm so very sorry to hear you've fallen victim to this, it really sounds awful. From what I've learned so far about this, I don't think your symptoms are as mild as you've been told, so please be careful and don't let anyone make you feel you're being a nuisance.

We had to find out as much as we could two weeks ago, when a playmate of my grandson's was diagnosed with it. My grandson had just recovered from failed heart surgery (and went back in today to hear about his next op!), so his Cardiac consultant advised us to exclude both Cal and his sister from school and to start the Tamiflu medication immediately.

Incidentally, this fella also recommended that I immediately start dosing everybody with Echinacea and Zinc - which I have done and (so far) nobody has been affected. The consultant told me that, as far as they know to date, Echinacea provides the only known valid support for the body's immune system to fight off this virus.

Above all, dear Feck, keep your chin up and if you do feel hungry, at least you can make a pig of yourself without feeling guilty!

It's not transmittable through cyber space? Is it? Hope you are soon better.

It just goes to show what a horrible person I am: Your evident discomfort reminded me of a recent posting by Professor Yaffle in which he said - If you should receive e-mails from the NHS concerning the catching of Swine Flu from tinned meat, don't worry ... it's only spam!

Sorry. Couldn't resist it. But we honestly DO hope that you feel much better and quickly.

Yay! Glad to hear it. BTW, what has elevated your blog to adults only? The "Squaring", as my nephew used to call it when he was a wee lad, in the header?

TFE, sure hope you're over the worst of it...sounds awful and that is supposed to be mild...crikey! Take care TFE, it's a sure sign of stamina when you've kept your humour and poetic skills alongside swine flu...we are in a heatwave here and sweating buckets...can't wait for the cool, cool grass of home! : )

So glad you are feeling better. Flu is horrible and I can fully sympathise - I've had it twice but many years ago and you think you are dying. I hope you were wearing a mask or held your breath as you typed up this post! Did you know there is a warning about the adult content in your blog? Perhaps I am not grown up enough yet to have spotted it!! I laugh each time it shows up.

There's nothing can be said except to hope the worst is pat or soon will be. All good wishes for from now on.

I haven't had swine flu, but 'ordinary' flu is dreadful and makes you wonder if you are dying, so I can sympathise. Glad you are feeling better - look after yourself. I left a comment yesterday but there is no sign of it on your blog so you may get two. Buy one - get one free!
