Don't know how I managed that but

my only excuse is that I rarely post sober. However it is most remiss of me to have omitted John Hayes http://robertfrostsbanjo.blogspot.com/ from my list of Kreativ bloggers.John's blog is fascinating and insightful, it /he is also very prolific.Clearly a great musician, but also a great poet and perhaps more importantly a great thinker. We are all travelling a road and I recommend everybody to look in now and then to see how John is travelling his.

Hi TFE:

You're far too generous, but many thanks for the very kind words.

Congrats, John! I did as TFE instructed and checked out your site. LOVE that beeeeautiful lilac bush behind you and Eberle. Ours are all in bloom right now here in CT...a heavenly scent! Now, how does one stand in front of a lilac bush like that and not get stung? Did you lull the bees to sleep with your melodies?

TFE....LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this photo of the cars! As I was born in the Motor City (Detroit), any art form having to do with the beloved auto is a feast for my eyes. :-)

Hi Jeanne:

The bee question is an astute one, but not one for which I have an immediate answer. Thanks for stopping by.

Well, right now, I hear the town is struggling with the economic woes and the closing of many auto factories, dealerships, etc. It filters down to the local merchants as well.

Detroit is set up like most midwestern towns...big city with little suburbs surrounding it. The Detroit River separates U.S. from Canada.

If you look at an old Motown label with the map of Detroit on it, the street I grew up on is right under the 'n'.

One thing that is cool about hailing from Michigan, besides the fact that it's a beautiful state, is that when people ask me where I was born, I can just raise my right hand and point to the area under my thumb. (Michigan is shaped like a mitten.)

Once, I was at a party, and there were four of us from Michigan. As soon as we all discovered this, we began pointing to places on our hands where we've been. The others thought we were nuts! Quite fun!

Thanks for all that Jeanne.Sometimes I wish I could go to America and have a look for myself. No money though and a detestation of travelling-love being there-hate getting there.I shall see America vicariously through people like yerself and J.H.
