EMPEROR BOSCO -BORN TO BE WILD

Here I am now mentioning all non poetography things about family and dogs and stuff that I swore I never would coz I'm not interested when other people do.particularly wit pics o their cat. Anyway it's a hard slog but with perseverence and constant repetition and showing who's boss with a little agression, the dog is slowly getting us trained. We realise now that a tidy house is not a happy one, that mud is glorious, cat faeces a tasty treat and 5am is the ideal time for a bracing walk in the cold dark rain. How silly were we before Emperor Bosco showed us the error of our ways? On the plus side,as the dog is almost permanently attached to a lead straining from my left arm, I am slowly developing a one-handed-not-looking-through-the-viefinder technique of taking photographs which will come in handy should I ever become one-handed and blind. Another bonus is my chronic insomnia seems to have disappeared overnight as I crash into bed hours earlier than ever before out of abject exhaustion while muttering prayers that the morning may never dawn and that i may pass away blisfully in my sleep. The fact that I have also developed several nervous tics that would make Inspector Clouseau's boss look like a calm man, is perhaps a small price to pay.

Ps If anybody out there knows what the world record for high jump by a dog is , please let me know- if it's around the same height as a small Bungalow,I think we may be onto a winner.

That's the way to start the new year - let the dog do the dictating. Just don't let him take over your blog ;)

Don't worry B, this blog will definitely be a dog-free zone. (if that's okay with him !)

God, it sounds as disruptive and mad as having a new baby.
But you might make money out of Bosco yet with that high jumping. Babies are not lucrative like that.

Hi Nools, babies not so lucrative? If ye had one that jumped as high as The Bos- it might be!!

Now TFE, I know that you already are aware of these, but I thought it might be fun to list the benefits of owning a terrier mix:

1. You get aerobic exercise without paying to wait in line for the weights or a ski lift ticket.

2. Now be honest, what is more rewarding than the soft wet licks of a canine tongue across your cheek?

3. If you attach a paint brush to his tail, stand in front of him with a dog biscuit, he just might wag a multi-million euro/dollar/pound painting!

4. No changing of diapers (nappies)!

5. As you take him out for his pre-dawn walk, isn't it lovely to hear the sweet melodies of the birds just at their awakening?

TFE, nice to know that Emperor Bosco is settling in - he will be the makings of ye - there is a lot to be said to being agile in the one-handed photo-taking department.
And just think, you will never again need a chimney sweep...love the photo and how Bosco seems to be engrossed in taking leaping-tips from the far-off crashing waves.

Ah Liz, poor Bosco had to go back to the rescue centre last night, his behaviour was getting more savage and disturbing by the day. We'll call back to see if he can be treated but, for now a house is no place for him. By the way I notice from your other blog you have an interest in rescue dogs so you might be shocked to know that 75,000 dogs are put down every year in Ireland!

Hey Jeanne some good points there, I'm sure Bosco could have painted for sure.i think he might have been a Van Gogh type of a dog.Maybe we'll be able to get him back and find out!?

ah, mental dogs. I had a mental dog once, it had a bandy eye and everything. I wandered into our house and we fed it until we got bored. My dad then took it to some local flats for it to be 'collected'. I still entertain the notion that he wanders from flat complex to flat complex, helping the elderly and sorting out local bullies etc, like a irish 'littlest hobo'

Hey Uiscebot, tanx fer droppin by, I think it could be the very same dog though his altruistic tendencies have been inverted as he seeks savage revenge upon a hostile un-caring world, like irelands littlest psycho.
