THE HAPPY BUS POEM!

Happiness is...

The writing of a wrong
A kite tail out of reach
something
Around the corner
Over the rainbow
In your smile
happiness
Hides the knife
Life is happy
I am happy
Happiness was
Happiness
Is
Getting drunk
Happiness is madness
Is a kiss a cry
For help
Happiness is
A wicked grin
Have a gin
And tonic
Altered states are ironic
The acquisition of a disposition
More able
Under the table
In the fable
Happiness
A moment
Within a moment
A dream within
A dream
A case for the defence
Of life
Happiness is
A baited breath
The accumulation of wealth
Putting others beneath your feet
Happiness is the sweet
beat of the sour
the minute of their longest hour
Happiness
has a ball
In the hall
Of mirrors
all it’s cracked up to be
happiness is
A memory
A forgotten thing
A myth
An unproven law
An unconstitutional right
An institutional wrong
The love torn opium of the
wreckless spirit
Life Liberty and
the persuit of
ask don't tell
show don't explain all answers
remain till
it's over
it's over
it's
happiness is

you showed the good and dark sides of happiness! which is weird because I just watched an episode of futurama and it was about flipping coins. which is kind of what you did in this poem. showing both sides of the coin. if you get what i mean.

Wow! You've written too many great contrasts and contradictions to name them all. You always find the worm in the apple, and I like that!

As I read this & thought of our upcoming elections it reminded me that one person's small-minded hatred of others is apparently their happiness - & not mine. I suppose that there are always a billion definitions of happiness.

"the minute of their longest hour' Beautiful!

In your pursuit for happiness, you seem to have discovered its fullness.

By the way, no one's at the wheel, but I'm up with my bus poem.

This is epic, TFE! So much pith here. I think my favorite lines are:
Happiness is the sweet
beat of the sour
the minute of their longest hour
Happiness
has a ball
In the hall
Of mirrors
all it’s cracked up to be

Keep writing, love. You're that refreshing and good.

You are quite right TFE - happiness is so many things and means something different to each of us. I love the way this flows from beginning to end and carries the reader along. Great stuff.

Sweet and sour, your poems
'the sweet beat of the sour'
great

Wonderful clever flow of ideas in this poem, really like the subtle intermittent rhymes, add just a touch of structure to the free flowing thing.
thanks for sharing

happy: difficult to define or describe,

true: better to show it than explain it.

nicely done.

The sing-song rhythm, the truisms, the back and forth, up and down .... this is amazing!!! I'll have my gin and tonic now please...altered states are nice.

great stuff TFE - a bit of a tour de force, would love to hear it read out.

TFE, I can only say that it put me straight in mind of Led Zeppelin's The Rain Song

"These are the seasons of emotion
and like the wind they rise and fall"

I can't really accord much higher than that.

Far reaching, profound, a wonderful emotional word maze...

"Happiness
has a ball
In the hall
Of mirrors
all it’s cracked up to be
happiness is
A memory
A forgotten thing
A myth
An unproven law
An unconstitutional right
An institutional wrong
The love torn opium of the
wreckless spirit
Life Liberty and
the persuit of
ask don't tell"

I'm going to have to read this again TFE
Truly wonderful thanks you :)
