JUNE SONG

Between
All I have done
all I could do
They are all dead
The best people
They are all written
The great things
Jasmine blooming
Despite or because of
The rain
All the good nights are gone
Not a care in the world
See the dark
sees the light
Carpe diem

I named our house Carpe Deum and try to live up to it. Wishing you more good nights and days. I liked this poem and the way you can convey a great deal with few words.

There's something about this poem I really, really like.

As you say, carpe diem.

ps. Where's the bridge? It has a familiar look about it.

Thanks Heather. That's a great name for a house.Ours is called 40. Not very original granted, but fits in very well with nearby 39 and 41.
I'm glad you liked the poem too :)

Thanks Dominic, appreciate that. The photo is of The Ha'penny Bridge in Dublin taken from the Templebar side of the Liffey.

Oh, I get that sense of futility, but then I think, maybe it's just not true. Perhaps, just perhaps, we're writing something fresh that no one's ever thought of before. It's possible, isn't it?
Certainly, when I read your stuff, TFE, I can't recall seeing it anywhere before.
