FEED THE FECKIN PIXIES !!!!!!

It's time to feed the feckin Pixies. What have we got to lose? Singer song writer par excelklence 'Don't feed the pixies' (check him out on his blog singng 'Last night of the fair' with the dulcet toned Argent on his blog) is driving this weeks poetry bus.It might struggle, but it will never stall. And DFTP has set a brilliant task this week. Check it out here... HERE

Pale moon rising
Roadsigns lipstick traces
unfamiliar poses pout from familiar faces
every where you go, traffic moving slow
printed words none of them pointing home,
don't see lost and lonely is
not the same as being alone.

Little arrows point
up and down,
motorway chevrons fly
a thousand people you'll never know,
who fears the reaper?

The guardian the gate keeper
parralell universes
in lit windows flashing by
each and any one could have been
and there , but for the grace....

look once see twice
let it not into your mind
the delicious night-neon orange
flashing by.

I like this one, TFE! Sometimes, while stopped at a light, I wonder what would happen if there were some kind of emergency, and then we'd all get out of our cars and really become 'neighbors' instantly. Other times, I actually smile and wave at perfect strangers passing by in their cars. When they smile and wave back, it's great!

Hey! Your moon looks just like the one in this sky over here. Beautiful!

"...the delicious night neon orange flashing by."

I have a thing about orange at night. The colour of the cloudy sky over a city. I like this one!

Thanks Chiccoreal, never thought of it asa song but I'd love it to be.If anyone wants to turn it into one I'd be delighted.Songs alwaysseem the best form of words to me, I'm really jealous of musicians that can write stuff then sing it.

Ireland is full of pixies or Leprechauns to give the proper title to our indiginous small people. But we don't have foireflies, I wish we did, I've never seen one but they sound so magical.

Hey Chicco put one in a matchbox with some food and a bed and send it over.Even better send two, so I can start a breeding programme.Ireland needs fireflies!!

What a journey TFE
The ending is something else

"look once see twice
let it not into your mind
the delicious night-neon orange
flashing by."

What happens if the night-neon orange does get into your mind...

Yes a veritable road journey which I think you should expand and make into an epic poem 60 pages long

This is interesting, and reads a bit as if written from the car, it just captures that feeling so well. I love the use of the word chevron here as well. The last stanza is particularly strong I think - especially delicious night-neon orange
great stuff!

This kinda reminded me of Subterranian Homesick Bluse - I could almost hear Bob Dylan singing the words

Love the direction you took with this prompt

Yeah, the last line is brilliant. The whole poem really conjures up a neon night drive perfectly, and the loneliness that sometimes comes with it, I think

I really like this, TFE! Those last lines especially grab me with the images of those lit windows flashing by. The parallel universes part is brilliant.

Oh God, this is good. I want to hear you reading it with "Autobahn" playing in the background. In fact, just join Kraftwerk. Such a resonating bit of writing.
