My ,God, I don't believe it.

Ok, so we were rejected by Artslinks.Though disappointed I had to realise that no matter how good your project not everybody can be funded. There's just not enough money to go round which makes the process a bit of a lottery.Disappointing but can't really be helped.

BUT wait till you hear this, WICKLOW ARTSLINKS HAD €6,000 FUNDS AND AWARDED ONLY €1,500 !!!! So in their eyes it wasn't fierce competition after all, in their eyes The Poetry Bus magazine is NOT WORTHY OF FUNDING at all, ever, full stop.Iknow it's my project and all but for fuck's sake!!! That is a nonsense.I'm fucking apopleptic with rage.

And to rub salt into raw and weeping wounds and to give another swift kick to the teeth listen to this, if you read my post below about wicklow only funding VISUAL arts, you'll know what I mean, The only 2 recipients of money in Wicklow were... drum roll pause baited breath, yes you guessed it, VISUAL ARTISTS!!

I give up.

Maybe... possibly... these folks have hidden learning disabilities of which they are quite ashamed, and they just cannot read.

Btw, love your header photo, TFE!

perhaps Wicklow Artslinks should be our next poetry target. Make them tremble. Farts.

I think you just found the lost eejits (said the photographer).

A pox on them. Self-publishing is the way to run this. Tricky, if you're working from subscriptions, but not impossible.

So that must mean that poetry is not art then. I thought when I started reading that you were going to say that they had changed their mind and were going to dish the dosh after all. They are blinkered, but that's the self-congratulatory, cliquey world they live in I guess.

Visual Artists! Feckin's SCUMTHELOTOFEM! Oh, erm, no... waitminute.....(sheepishly covers easel).

Ah look, I've given up trying to understand the logic of these things - never mind the workings of public sector budgeting as a whole. But I do know a few people who work in this general area, and to be fair, they all appear to be pretty decent, reasonable, industrious human beings who are trying to do best by the arts with meagre resources. Generally its a small pot with many mouths. I don't know what the specifics ae in this case, but it won't stop the bus. Can we drive it? YES WE CAN! Put me down for 10.

Hang on, I'll just rage a bit.
Arghghgh!

Right, having worked in the good old voluntary sector for over ten years, there is a language to grant applications that is unlike that spoken by any man. Or woman.
Did you use the keywords "socially excluded", "sustainable", "inclusive", "innovative", "accessible", "partner agencies" and "out-reach"? And are you multi-generational?

I like PN's attitude. Can we drive it? Yes we can!
