I'm up to me oxters in debt ,delirium, depression and a savage rake of conundrums.

Well done to Padhraig Nolan who gainfully and most ably chucked da charabangus down the potry laden photographic lanes of Scalderville. Many thanks to himself and the multifarious bus poets what jumped aboard for red lemonade and chaise and onio crispeens. Tis some mighty poems that ye did come up with and I enjoyed readings the lot o them.

This weeks drively perso is none other than the world famous poet, shoe fetishist and mother of sixteen, Barbara Smith. She has given us a prompt which has me googles all of a gaggle with synapses firing hither and thither like a cerebral Bren gun.And seeing as we is all starting with the same seed it's gonna be doubly interesto to see what germinates and blooms in the nebulous Zen poetry bus zeitgeist zoo garden.
Take a looky-see HERE

Elsewhere in the metropopist. A while ago The Poetry Bus magazine project was REJECTED by Wicklow Arse Office.Their august panel of professional prize giving pundits decided that the following (see below) were more worthy, more needy, more laudable, more fundable more fantastic than the world's second greatest poetry mag with @30 talented new, nearly new, and established poets. I knew we were rejected but here now is who were accepted and it seems the rumours that they favour visual arts were borne out.

Looking at that lot quite clearly poetry/literature doesn't merit funding at all. Virtually the only 'Art' existing in the Wicklow world is visual.
Once again disappointed but not the least bit surprised. There is still the Artlinks bursaries to be announced and I have one other last funding straw to be grabbed at soWatch this space! Not literally. So stop now. Really.

Go on, you can go now, away with ye, begone!Feck off! But be sure and come back.

My Iranian friend has told me Iranians use the pinky finger for rudeness - a variation with a slightly different intent.

Shame on those Wacky Wicklowians. Their overly funded allotment in favor of visual arts almost seems illegal.

Much askew about nothing...

Can they read?

Well. I'm disappointed. No literary arts at all. Zilch for the printed word. Sad. It's all I've got. Guess I'll go eat worms. See you later.

Thats a pity, maybe if we set the poems to music and call it opera they might reconsider.

Feckers - on the upside, that new header photo is brilliant. . .

I do like the new header pic too, you should get funding for that...

Ok, we need to organise a Poetry Bus Festival, that'll get funding, and one of the (ie the only) activitys of the fest can be the launch of the festival "programme" ie the mag....

Sound like a plan?

Brigid makes a good point here.

Perhaps, a musical puppet show with visual effects... I'll see what I can do when I take the driver's seat. ; )

ah they're all pumped up muppets to be honest. Sure the studio I was in here in Dublin (love the banner pic btw)was cut by 100% and now I'm set up in my tiny dining room so now we all have to eat of our laps (I know we normally DO dine in this style and that the dining table is left waiting for Christmas but to be FORCED to eat off our bloody laps by the Arse I mean Arts no I mean Arse Council is just woeful!)
I'll be running a large indoor market arty ALL arts in Dublin on 13th June and thereafter on the second Sunday of the month. If you want to take a stall there let me know...you could also arrange to have a poetry bus night at the venue also.I'll be putting up an application page on my website over the next two days

They are total plonkers but they will never keep us down!

TFE it's time you got your little artist hands to work again with your magnificent figurinos. Then you can photograph them and overlay our poems on top. Would that suit them, I wonder?

Ah well, you're still better off than over here, I reckon.

Rotten lot!! They're probably all illiterate and have to get someone else to read and write for them. Chin up Peadar and I love the new header pic.

Recieved my artslinks letter this morning 'regretfully' informing me our begging for money had been rejected.. You're right about the bias towards visual arse! feckers the lot of em! nancy middle class fuckwits with masters and BA's coming out of every orifice spouting shite and producing 'art' bourne from the same!... poetry is too raw an art to be approached by soft palmed first borns.. especially poetry written by real people!.. (not that I'm any way angry about the un-just 'systems' of this world!) :-D
(appologies to any middle class first born masters of arts degree people, it's nothing personal!)

It seems terribly unbalanced. Particuarly away from literature and towards visual art. I think you should ask the arts office and your local councillors who still have to vote it in
